Dashboards are collections of data visualizations, presented in a single-page view that imparts at-a-glance information on which users can act quickly.
Data visualizations are graphical representations of your data and are used to simplify the transmission of sometimes complex information. It’s much easier for an end-user to spot trends in a chart rather than sifting through a data file with hundreds, possibly thousands of entries.
A business dashboard is a data management and information communication tool that is used to tracks measures, metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and other key data points relevant to a business, department, or specific process. A Business dashboard has an essential Business organization, so too has the number of charts, graphs available.
In today’s business environment, the tendency is towards more and more data – so much so that its called Big Data. Managing and extracting real value from all the data that is created and stored from all the apps and systems we use is quickly becoming a “BIG” challenge facing all businesses whether your small or large.
Odoo V12 Views and Dashboard supports both Odoo Community and Odoo Enterprise Edition.
Odoo Dashboard and views module helps you to analyze almost every aspect of your business that is recorded in Odoo. This module is robust and flexible that it can work with data from any Odoo model. Create customized graphical reports of your Odoo data in record time. In Odoo we use several types of views such as tree, form, search, calendar, graph, pivot, Kanban, etc.
Tree View also is known as List View shows multiple records in the form of a list (rows and columns). and ‘tree’ view provides the list view of objects.
Form views are used to display the data from a single record. Forms are used to create and edit single records.
It defines the fields to be searched when typing in the search box It also provides predefined filters that can be activated with a click.
Calendar view provides a timeline – schedule view for the data, they display records as events in a daily, weekly, or monthly calendar. Calendar view provides a timeline/schedule view for the data. In calendar view, we can view a task as one of the following: Day, Week, Month(default).
Odoo provides a facility to represent data in a graphical form. The graph view gives a way to look at your data and to visualize it in various ways.
Types of graph:
- Pie chart
- Bar chart
- Line chart
Each chart with the module has its own extensive functionality.
if you’re trying to illustrate the percentage breakdown of a small number of data points, then they can be very effective.
Bar Chart or Column Chart:
Bars (or columns) are the best types of graphs for presenting a single data series. Bar charts have a much heavier weight to them than line graphs so they really emphasize a point and stand out on the page.
The simplest type of chart graph is the line graph. This is the perfect solution for showing multiple series of closely related series of data. Line charts have a very light-weight (they only consist of lines, as opposed to more complex chart types, as shown further below), they are great for a minimalistic look.
The basic use of the pivot table is that you can select the desired dimensions, use the search bar to select appropriate filters, and switch to various chart modes. You can re-organize and summarize selected columns and rows of data in a spreadsheet or database table to obtain a desired report. A pivot table doesn’t actually change the spreadsheet or database itself.
In kanban view, we have presented the user with a list of records that can be opened to show a form. We will create a kanban view of project module with stages as selection field through which I can drag-drop the project between different stages.
