In Odoo 13 Point of Sale (POS) is technically a system in a retail store from which you handle the sale of physical goods. Odoo Point of Sale can be used online or offline on Android tablets, iPads or laptops. In a store, a POS is used where the checkout happens, orders are processed and bills are paid. Odoo POS generates brief sales reports i.e. depend on product, hour, employee, total retail amount, net profit, profit percentage, etc.

Odoo POS handles as the main component for your business; it’s the core where everything—like sales, inventory and customer management—merges.
First of all, you can install the Odoo POS module in your database.
To Configure of Product for Point Of Sale:
Now you can configure a product in the Inventory module.
Go to Inventory module -> Master Data -> Products and click on the Create button. At that time go to the Point of Sale tab and tick the checkbox of “Available in Point of Sale”.
Now go to the Point of Sale Dashboard where you can see all the POS sessions in your Odoo system.
Now you can go to the Order Section under that you look at various options like Orders, Sessions, Payment Customers. After clicking on the Order button now you can see all the POS orders which you can be placed.
After clicking the Sessions button now you can view all active sessions like shop or restaurant.
Under the Payment Section, Now you can add a new payment method for a Point of Sale.
Go to Point of Sale -> Configuration -> Point of Sale -> Select a Point of Sale then go to Payment section and click on the Payment method button.
After click on the Customers button, now you can view all customers with their information.
Now comes to the Product Section that you look at various options like Product, Product Variants, Loyalty program. After clicking on the Product button you can view and access all the products which you have configured.
Now comes to the Product Variant Section, you can view, access and add various variants of the products.
Now go to the Loyalty Program button, you can configure the loyalty program in the Odoo POS. You can set a minimum purchase amount for the Odoo POS customers to earn loyalty reward points.
Now go to and click on Create. At that time the Loyalty Program in Odoo consists of three sections.
First section: In this type of field you can specify the details of the program.
Second section: In this type of field, you can add certain rules
Third section: In this type of field, you can add corresponding rewards.
At that time you go to the first section then create a loyalty program then fill the following details like name, points per currency, points per order, points per product, points rounding.
At that time you go to the second section, To do this click on Add an item under Rules.
Now you can fill the following required fields like
>>Name: An internal identification for this loyalty program rule
>>Type: Does this rule affects products or a category of products?
>>Target Product: The product affected by the rule
>>Target Category: The category affected by the rule
>>Cumulative: The points won from this rule will be won in addition to other rules
>>Points per product: How many points the product will earn per product ordered
>>Points per currency: How many points the product will earn per value sold
At that time you go to the third section. Three types of reward can be given: Gift, Discount and Resale.
Gift: give a gift for an amount of points. Now you can fill the following required fields like Reward Name, Gift Product, Reward Cost, Minimum points, and click on the Save and New button.
Under the Pricing section, you can enable the various options like Pricelist option, Advanced Pricelist, Product Prices, Global Discounts, Loyalty Program, Price Control, etc.
Under the Bill & Receipt section, you can enable the following fields like Header & Footer, Automatic Receipt Printing, Reprint Receipt, Invoicing, etc. In Header & Footer field you can customize your bill by adding custom messages. In the Invoicing field, you can print an invoice for your customer.
Under the Inventory section, now you can enable the operation type option then click on the Save button.
Create your first PoS session
Now go to the PoS dashboard, you can view all your points of sale and you can start a new session.
After clicking on the New Session button in Point of Sale. You now arrive on the PoS interface. At that time you can select the various categories of products.
Now clicking on the Customer button, you can set your Customer.
After creating the Customer, now you come to the Payment section. At that time you can click to register the payment by clicking on the Payment button.
Under the Payment button, you can select the cash option and add the Tendered amount paid by the customer and click on the Validate button
Once you Validate the payment, it will generate a receipt and you can see your customized header and footer. You can even print the receipt if you have a printer configuration. Lastly, you can trigger the Next Order option and continue with your POS processing.
After validating the Payment, at that time, generate a receipt and you can see all information about your order.
Now go to the Order section, you can see the order you just created.
